Salvatore Ferragamo RTW Spring 2018
The spring Ferragamo present was spiffed up as a nighttime prelude to a fragrance launch get together, the glass runway snaking throughout a grassy, flower-strewn set outside the Milan inventory change with Maurizio Cattelan’s statue giving the one-fingered salute in the middle. Anybody who’s attended a Ferragamo present in the final handful of years has seen that statue, erected as a statement to the monetary system, exterior the Ferragamo venue many instances. But it still commanded more attention than the gathering itself.
You must wonder how the design process works now that Paul Andrew is firmly accountable for equipment and Fulvio Rigoni, the women’s prepared-to-put on. Who leads Here’s guessing it’s Andrew. The leather-based items are much more helpful to the home in terms of sales, and the collection’s shoes, baggage and belts drew the eye more than the clothes, which felt built to match. Andrew came up with crisscross mules, slides and heels with ankle straps, some with flashy Deco-ish heels with sculpted ribbing. They got here in rainbow colours — blush, pink, mauve, black, seafoam green, grey and white. There have been colorful snakeskin sneakers and booties that seemed like some form of marled mesh. Rounded minibags slung from a giant strap or looped onto a large belt cinched across the salvatore ferragamo bow flip flops waist felt contemporary.
Rigoni’s lineup performed second fiddle, an incongruous attempt to muster slinky glamour with glossy liquid silks, halter and bustier dresses, fringed frocks and some strange daywear separates performed in iridescent transparencies. It was achieved in palette that matched the accessories, and the red moments — two slipdresses, one silk, one fringed — felt right and matched many ladies in purple, a scorching colour proper now, in the viewers.
