What is CherBot?

CherBot is an information bot for Daimonin which probably would also work pretty well with Angelion and to less extent with Crossfire. CherBot keeps track of which players collect which items, who's been online, determines a level ranking, provides a mail system for mailing offline players, manages clans and more.

2006-10-28: CherBot finally has become a SourceForge project. Therefore CherBot's got a new homepage: ↗http://cherbot.sourceforge.net/.

CherBot v2.0 plans

Currently I'm developing plans for creating CherBot v2.0.

• SQL backend via JDBC
• Multiple instances within the same JVM to allow CherBot running on multiple servers
• IRC interface
• Less memory usage (currently CherBot needs approx. 55 MB of VM heap space)
• Better natural language processing (this is mainly a development and documentation issue, as current CherBot regexes are already pretty elaborate)
